If you have any Child Protection concerns, however small, please share them with the school. Information received will be treated sensitively, following clearly defined procedures. Our policy is reviewed annually and is available upon request. A copy is on the school notice board in the canteen for parents.

MASH

What does Mash stand for? Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub.

The MASH is a partnership between Norfolk County Council Social Care, Police, Probation Services and Health Services working together to safeguard children and vulnerable adults in the community. These key professionals come together to facilitate early, better quality information sharing, analysis and decision making to safeguard children, young people and vulnerable adults more effectively.

At Aldborough we contact the MASH team if we have a question or concern related to child protection. They are able to give us advice or we can make a referral if required. MASH are the first point of contact for receiving new safeguarding concerns or enquiries. By working collaboratively, we can better support vulnerable children and young people and their families.

Anyone can make a referral to MASH. We have clear processes in school, but it is the right of ANY staff member to make a referral if they feel it is necessary.

NSCP

The Norfolk Safeguarding Children Partnership works as a group to safeguard children. Every Local Authority in the country has a local partnership to ensure that children are protected from harm and that their welfare is promoted.

In Norfolk, the Norfolk Safeguarding Children Partnership (NSCP) consists of statutory and voluntary partners. They work with families and children as an independent organisation. They make sure that people working with children perform their safeguarding responsibilities as required by the law.

They have useful information for parents and carers. If you are concerned about a child or young person and need to make a referral then information on how to do this is available on their website.

Visitors and Volunteers

Visitors, volunteers and students at Aldborough are provided with Safeguarding information and training. At Reception Safeguarding leaflets are provided which detail what to do if you need to report a concern about a child. Additional Safeguarding information is available in the staffroom and dining room, as well as shared on this website. Any questions, then please ask a member of staff.
